Thanksgiving brings Miracles

Having an attitude of gratitude is not always easy. Especially in difficult times such as times when we feel alone or rejected. But by faith we can have the mind of Christ. You might be surprised to hear that right after Jesus rebuked Korazin, Bethsaida, and Capernaum for rejecting Him, He afterwards thanked God.  He set his sights on those who had accepted Him, and thanked God for them. Sure rejection hurts, and no one wants to be alone, but the good news is that you are not alone. God is with you and will be a companion to you if you invite him too. Jesus knew that no matter who else rejected Him, God fully accepted and approved of him. It is the same for you. So be thankful for Gods acceptance and let God show you the indescribable love that he loves you with.

But Pastor Donna you don't understand, I don't even have a thanksgiving dinner today. I understand quite well because I have walked in those shoes. On one occassion when Jesus was preaching the people were poor, and hungry and there was barely enough food to feed a few of them. Yet Jesus was looking in the faces of more than 5000 hungry people. It was then, when he lifted up the little that he had and gave thanks to God. God miraculously multiplied the food and every single person was full. There were even leftovers. I am a witness to Gods miraculous provision when we trust him and thank him for providing for us.  We can demonstrate thanksgiving when we are willing to take what is in our hands, reguardless of how little and give thanks to God for it. You will be in awe of how God responds to your thankful heart. (See Matthew 15:36; Mark 8:6; John 6:11)

No matter what we are dealing with , we can be thankful that no problem is to hard for God. As the Lord ate the Last Supper with his disciples, just before going to the cross to be sacrificed for our sins, He thanked God. He knew that very shortly he would be betrayed,  wrongly arrested, brutally beaten and crucified. Yet still he thanked God. It may sound impossible, but all things are possible with God. So no matter where you are today, can I just encourage you to lift your hands and give thanks to God? He's brought you this far and will never leave you nor will he forsake you.

So be encouraged belove, and lets follow Christs leading and give thanks to God, because He is worthy and remember, thanksgiving ushers in miracles and you can receive your miracle today.

With Thanksgiving,

Pastor Donna
