The Great Physician

There are days you don't feel well. Your in pain, your anxious, maybe depressed. You go to the doctor. He diagnosed you with a condition that is treatable with the right medication . He gives you a prescription and sends you home. Your symptoms continue for days on and off. And then months, and finally years, until you realize its chronic.  The realization is exhausting.

If only there was a great physician. One who could not only diagnose you, more thoroughly, even perfectly, and heal you? You wonder, and then you a friend tells you the good news. There is one and He is nearer to you then you think. His name is Jesus and He has diagnosed the condition that every human suffers with in one word.  He also gives you the cause and the cure.

Diagnosis - Sin

Cause - Alienation from God.

Remedy - Be reconciled to God.

You read the prescription; but wonder, what exactly is sin? 

You find the answer. Sin is lawlessness. 2 John 3:4. God has given laws through his servant Moses that he wants you to keep. But instead you broke them. You discover that because you broke the laws of God, you alienated yourself from God. Your reminded of when you were a child and disobeyed your parents. You avoided them knowing that they were displeased with you. You want no part of their displeasure. But then your parents find out and send you to your room, because of they want no part in your disobedience toward them. For a time your alienated. You alienated yourself because your
